Upper West Side Classic 10
Overview
In her prewar New York apartment, Kathy Kuo designed layered, collected interiors that feel both worldly and wonderfully lived-in. Drawing on a sophisticated palette of warm neutrals, rich greens, and timeworn hues, Kathy created spaces that honor traditional elegance while embracing organic forms. The living room centers on a luxurious velvet sofa flanked by sculptural rattan lamps, with a curated mix of antique finds and contemporary pieces rich in pattern and texture. In the dining room, Kathy embraced maximalist beauty with dramatic mural wallpaper, antique brass fixtures, a majestic peacock figure, and handcarved barley twist chairs. Throughout both spaces, Kathy's signature design approach shines: a reverence for craftsmanship, an eye for proportion, and the confidence to mix periods and styles in the spirit of gracious, timeless living.

From The Homeowner
“This dining room feels like stepping into another world. The mural walls, richly figured woods, and candlelight glow are all designed to draw you in and slow you down. I wanted it to feel intimate and transportive, like a hidden garden in the city.”
